Yesterday I got under my deck and fixed the broken stair that had been worrying me for days now. I also discovered that I have nice concrete steps under the deck should I ever need to remove it. Now all that is left is to clean and refinish the deck and replace the railing. So I guess I'm just one third done for the Victoria Day weekend project.

Step 2: Go to the woodlot and buy the posts I need to make a proper railing as well as the stain and other stuff needed to make the refurbished deck look nice.

Step 3: Do the work. If all goes well and the weather is not too bad tommorow I might get some of it done then, but I'll probably just prepare the posts by cutting them and notching them to length. Also pre-drill the holes for the large bolts that will hold the railing posts to the deck.

So in the words of Red Green...You may not find me handsome, but you can always find me handy!
